Maxxium UK is to launch a 3D advertisement for Courvoisier.

The advertisement will air between 16-22 November 2009 as part of Channel 4's "3D Week".

Sainsbury's will be distributing 10m free 3D glasses through 500 superstores from early November, enabling viewers to enjoy the avant-garde 3D experience at home.

The ad aims to reconnect the spirit with its cocktail heritage.

Glass splinters and cognac shoot out at viewers and then spin into a vortex that forms a cocktail sitting next to a bottle of Courvoisier Exclusif.

"This activity will generate more awareness and demand for Courvoisier over the festive period," said Maxxium UK's marketing manager for Courvoisier, Janice McIntosh.

"This 3D advertising is a further testament to our commitment to contemporising cognac and leading the category forward."

Courvoisier's 3D advert will air between shows including Derren Brown's 3D Magic Spectacular, The Greatest Ever 3D Moments and various movies throughout the week.
