Thwaites: ale inspired by moths

Thwaites has launched a new brew — Frothy Moth — inspired by the light and delicate wings of a moth.

The ale is described as "an attractive light ale bursting with fruity overtones and a lasting refreshing taste".

Frothy Moth is available now exclusively through First Quench Retail.

Lee Williams, marketing manager at Daniel Thwaites said: "We are delighted to have partnered with First Quench Retail on this our first exclusive association with the retailer. We are committed to spreading our artisan roots not only with on-trade, but also the growing numbers of passionate ale drinkers in the consumer market."

Tracey Field of First Quench Retail said: "We know from research that our customers are keen ale drinkers. Currently our sales on ale are up +7% against the same time last year. We are confident that the combination of a quirky name like Frothy Moth, and lighter style ale will encourage customers who may not currently be drinking ale to give it a try.

"Daniel Thwaites is renowned throughout the industry for the quality and variety of their cask ales, so were a natural choice to partner on this new initiative."
