The vodka, which is named after a rare isotope (D20) found in water, is claimed to be the only vodka in the world with an ‘in-built aeration rod’ that infuses oxygen into every pour.

Drinks 21 director Gail Graham claimed the aeration rod offers the “smoothest and rarest taste”.

Geir Ringdal, chairman of Heavy Water Vodka International, said he was keen to “re-energise” the brand’s position in the UK marketplace.

The primary target for the Scandinavian brand is London and the south-east and it will be available to the on-trade via wholesalers, including Bibendum.
