Steam engines and real ale combine for Hook Norton's seasonal offering this November.

Steaming On, a 4.4% abv reddish-brown ale, was first brewed in 1999 to celebrate the centenary of the brewery's steam engine, which is still in use.

The brew uses a small amount of peated malt, normally used in whisky, to create a smoky flavour as well as Fuggles, Goldings and Challenger hops.

It goes well with game dishes and more robust flavours, managing director James Clarke said.
