Molson Coors is looking to invest "significantly" in the Sharp's Brewery following its purchase for £20m yesterday.
The global brewer has revealed it is looking to expand the site to increase brewing capacity of the Doom Bar brand. It has also pledged to retain the smaller brands in the business including the bottled Chalky's Bite, which is a joint project with celebrity chef Rick Stein.
Martyn Cozens, sales managing director (Wales and West) for Molson Coors, said: "We are 100% committed to this brewery at Rock and we are going to invest.
"There are 70 people in the Sharp's business and we have no intention of making any changes.
"We see it as important to protect and maintain the uniqueness and distinctiveness of this business."
Molson Coors has appointed Emma Bebbington as the brewery general manager. She joins from her previous job as Molson Coors regional director of free trade in the Midlands. She will report into Martyn Cozens. Former joint owners of Sharp's Brewery Nick Baker and Joe Keohane have left the business.
