Birmingham-based Aston Manor Brewery has bought Devon Cider Company out of administration.

Geoff Rowley and Nick O'Reilly, client partners from Vantis Business Recovery Services, were appointed as joint administrators on the 30 September 2009.

Aston Manor Brewery is the UK's largest independent cider company with 26 years experience in the industry and its acquisition of Devon Cider will save 50 jobs.

Rowley said: "We were able to develop a strategy for sale to keep Devon Cider open for trading and without having to make any redundancies."

Peter Ellis, managing director of Aston Manor, added:  "We were delighted to acquire Devon Cider to continue the art of cider making in Tiverton, Devon."
