Admiral Taverns has appointed Lynne D'Arcy and Andy Clifford as joint managing directors with immediate effect.

D'Arcy has been with Admiral since 2005, joining from Burtonwood where she had worked for more than 19 years until its sale to Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries (now Marston's). Prior to the new appointment she was Admiral's chief operating officer.

Clifford joined the group last year from Enterprise Inns, where he was strategic planning and investment manager and where he sat on the board. He has worked on Admiral's three latest acquisitions, including the recent purchase of 869 pubs from Punch Taverns for £326m.

Gary Landesberg, Admiral's chief executive said: "Admiral is now a large business with over 2,700 pubs in its estate. Both Lynne and Andy bring different skill sets to our business and work together exceptionally well.

"The business now requires a broad set of experience at the top to maximise the opportunity that both the market and our strategy has created."
