Antic pub company tight-lipped over subsidiary administration

Antic, the London-based pub company, has declined to comment on news that a subsidiary of the group has been placed in administration.

M&C Report understands that Antic Limited, which operates 12 leaseholds, has been placed in administration with Chantrey Vellacott. The administration is not believed to affect parent company Antic; information of its 24 sites have added to a new website AnticLondon.com.
Among the pubs operated by Antic Limited include the Balham Bowls Club in Balham, the Battersea Mess and Music Hall in Battersea and the Kings Head in Clapham Park Road.
It comes as Antic, which is par-backed by Downing Corporate Finance, continues to open pubs, with three openings planned for the next couple of months: the Chequers in Walthamstow, Effra Social Club in Brixton, and the Prince in Colliers Wood, which is to be renamed the Provenance.
Chantrey Vellacott has not confirmed news of the administration at the time of publication.
Despite the company declining to comment at this stage, one of its pubs, the Dogstar in Brixon, has moved the clarify the situation. It Tweeted: "The Dogstar isn't affected AT ALL & the 12 pubs in old Antic Ltd are open & trading."
