BrewDog will focus on hotdogs and craft beer at its new opening
The new BrewDog bar opening in Islington will be called Dog Eat Dog and will focus on hotdogs and craft beer.

The news comes as BrewDog confirms its most recent acquisition in Brighton and a second, bigger site in Leeds. The company has also given an update on six upcoming or potential openings overseas as part of a bi-annual update on its activities.

The company said its upcoming BrewDog bar in Essex Road will offer “craft beers, killer hotdogs with a few little surprises too.”

BrewDog’s next opening will be in Liverpool, at 1 Manolis Yard on Colquit Street in mid-late October. The company said it will feature “30 draft lines, two gnarly old shipping containers converted into beer cellars and a weird outside-inside-outside thing that we love without really understanding”.

It has agreed a deal for the former Blind Tiger in Brighton, with plans to open in 16 weeks’ time.

The Scottish company said it is waiting on planning permission for its new Glasgow Merchant City site, which is taking “longer than we hoped”, with plans to open in early 2015.

“In addition we have secured a much bigger site in Leeds (at Crispin Lofts on New York Road) and when this site opens in around March 2014 the plan is to turn the existing Leeds bar into a BottleDog.”

Overseas

Regarding its overseas plans, BrewDog said building work has begun on sites in Bologna and Barcelona, with Helsinki due to launch in about eight weeks.

“In Berlin, we’ve got an offer in on an amazing site, we are just waiting to see what happens. Crossing our fingers! We’ve got a partner and some plans are starting to get drawn up in Norway – more on that soon - and in Paris we are hunting high and low for an epic site.”

BrewDog, which currently operates 21 bars and a brewtap at its Ellon brewer, said it is recruiting for a new role of “bar hunter”, to find properties for the fast-expanding company, and also a property manager.

Meanwhile, the company said it has 12 new fermentation tanks arriving over the next few months which will add almost 80% to current production capacity.

The group is also building a new website.
