BrewDog, the fast-growing Scottish brewer and bar operator, plans to open its fifth craft beer bar in Nottingham on 25 February.

The company has secured a site in a former factory building in the Lace Market area.

In a blog on its website, the company said: “The old factory building is 100 years old and has some great character and features including awesome old brick walls, great corner windows and a vintage dark wood floor.

“Look forward to 14 awesome draft beers, artisanal snacks, live music and a selection of the best and hardest to find bottled craft beers on the planet.”

Earlier this month, M&C Report reported that BrewDog has increased its expansion plans for 2012 and is now looking to open 10 pubs this year, including the possibility of its first site abroad.

It followed news that the company completed its share issue early under the Equity for Punks scheme, raising a total of £2.14m at the end of December for expansion of its pub and brewery operations.

BrewDog's other bars are in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Camden in London. Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham are expected to be among the locations for the next openings.
