Country Food & Dining (CFD), the farm shop and restaurant concept headed by Firkin pubs founder David Bruce, has secured its fourth freehold site and close to £1m of additional funding.
The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) venture, headed by the former Capital Pub Company boss, has bought the Good Life Home & Garden Centre in Headbourne, Worthy, near Winchester, for £700,000.
It is also set to secure £1m of additional funding via its latest EIS fund, which is being promoted by financial advisors Smith & Williamson.
Under EIS rules each fundraising round has a £2m cap. It is believed the current CFD4 fund will be extended for subscriptions past a deadline of this month until the end of May. The Good Life joins Cobbs Farm Shop & Kitchen near Hungerford, Woody's Farm Shop & Dining near Bath (previously Springleaze Farm Shop), and Green Fields Farm Shop in Donnington, Shropshire.
