It also means the tenanted property will become a managed house.

The three-week renovation will begin on 25 September when the pub element of the venue will be closed to bring it into line with the Geronimo Inns pub format.

The music venue will continue to trade as usual and all upgrades to it will take place during non-trading hours. Tenant Carrie Davies will continue to run the music venue as part of the new team, while fellow tenant James Harris will leave the pub to concentrate on his other businesses.

“I’m so pleased this is becoming a Geronimo Inns pub and am excited about taking the Half Moon to the next level,” said Davies. “Our team has worked extremely hard to preserve this treasured venue and I’m looking forward to focusing all of my energy on the music side of the operation.”

Young’s property and tenancy director David Turner added: “We recognise that the pub commands a special place not just in the local community, but in the wider music community as well, due in no small part to all the hard work that James has put into the pub over the years.

"We think the Geronimo Inns format will provide the perfect complement to the pub’s music venue offering.”
