Pub and bar operator Glendola Leisure is spend £20m on boosting the size of its estate during the next five years.

The investment programme has already kicked off with the acquisition of the Watermark bar, located at Port Solent in Portsmouth.

The group said the purchase "spearheads our £20m investment in the casual dining sector which sees the acquisition of a number of businesses throughout London and the south coast over the next five years".

Glendola managing director Alex Salussolia said the Watermark deal was "in keeping with our aggressive growth strategy which has seen the business treble in the last ten years".

The Watermark's casual dining approach represented the type of business the group was looking to develop, he added.
