Premium Bars and Restaurants (PBR), formerly known as Ultimate Leisure, has reported that its sites "performed well" in December, with total group sales up 103 per cent on the same month in 2006.

Trading figures were boosted by a strong performance from recent acquisitions, including the Living Room, which the group bought last June for £28m.

Updating the market today, the group said the Living Room brand saw average weekly net sales per site of more than £83,000 in the three weeks ended December 23 2007, "a brand record".

PBR chairman Mark Jones said: "Overall we are pleased with our performance in the crucial month of December. Especially pleasing was the performance of the Living Room restaurant business, which saw record sales for the month.

"Our strategy is now clear and defined involving the roll out of our brands - The Living Room, Bel & the Dragon and Prohibition Bar & Grill. To that end we have exchanged on a new site for the Living Room in the Hub restaurant complex in Milton Keynes.

"We will continue to acquire sites and businesses that will help to deliver value to our shareholders," Jones concluded.

PBR will report its interim results for the half year to December 31 2007 on Thursday February 21, 2008.
