Digital screen media specialist Avanti has signed a three-year, £8 million deal with Setanta Sport Ltd to sell advertising and sponsorship on the broadcaster's sports channels into pubs and other licensed premises in the UK.

Avanti announced the deal following a successful first season based on selling advertising around Setanta's Premiership Football coverage.

The agreement will run up to August 2011, and will include Setanta's current and future broadcast rights for the English Premier League, Scottish Premier League, FA Cup, England Internationals, UEFA Cup, Indian Premier League Cricket, Boxing and the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

"This is a reflection of the significant commercial success that Avanti has delivered for Setanta in the first year of their Premiership coverage," said Avanti chief executive Simon Rees, who estimates that his company's net revenues from the deal, after revenue share and agency commission, will be about £1.6 million over the three years.
