The new roles of retail business manager (managed) & recruitment and business development manager (tenanted) have been created to help and develop its 170-pub estate.
The Cornish brewer made five new purchases in 2012, including the Albion, its first site in Bristol, and refurbished and rebuilt several sites in Cornwall and Devon.
This year the brewer will be focusing on enhancing and measuring the customer experience through service standards and the physical environment.
Jeremy Mitchell, marketing and communications director at St Austell, said: “The ideal candidates we’re looking for will bring the experience, skills, ideas and business acumen to support and coach managers and tenants to make the most of the business opportunities on offer. St Austell Brewery is a very people-focused organisation and it’s crucial we find candidates who fit our culture and values.”
One of the key tasks for the new business development managers is embracing the ‘Brewing a passion for excellence’ programme, which was launched last year in the managed estate and will this year include the tenanted estate.
