North West brewer Frederic Robinson has appointed ex-Cains director Steve Holt as its brand development manager.

Before joining Robinson Holt had established a brand development business for a number of UK and international beer brands known as Vertical Drinks.

That group's imported brands, including Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Veltins Pilsner, will be added to the Robinson's portfolio with immediate effect.

Holt said: "[My] new role is primarily one of marketing and business development for the brewery's packaged brands in both UK and export markets."

"Robinson's infrastructure and their highly efficient packaging facility present tremendous opportunities for the growth Robinson's brands and the imported beer business," he added.

Prior to his time at Cains Holt was marketing and commercial director at the Mansfield Brewery Company. He is not related to the Manchester brewer of the same name.
