Tadcaster Pub Company has reached its 50 pub-ownership target as it grows beyond its North Yorks heartlands.

The three-year-old Tadcaster-based pubco beat its targets with the recent acquisition of the Old Cottage Tavern in Burton-on-Trent. This first venture outside Yorkshire also marks the second phase of growth for Tadcaster, which is now actively seeking to expand in the Midlands.

Managing director James Crawfurd-Porter said: "We have effectively doubled our estate year-on-year and expanding into the Midlands is vital as we focus on driving the company forward and building our estate further."

The Old Cottage Tavern is one of five recent purchases by the company which include pubs in Darlington, Leeds, Hull and Middlesbrough.
