Regional brewer Daniel Thwaites has spent £7m to buy the 14-strong Rosewood pub business.

The deal adds 14 tenanted pubs located throughout the North West, Cheshire and Staffordshire to Thwaites' existing estate.

Thwaites, based at the Star Brewery in Blackburn, currently has around 330 tenanted pubs and 70 managed outlets, as well as the Shire Hotels business.

The company funded the deal from its existing banking arrangements.
