Staffordshire brewer and pub operator Titanic is planning a major investment to expand its brewery or move to a new site.

The company is currently in negotiation with Stoke-on-Trent City Council, which owns the freehold of its brewery in Burslem, about possible expansion.

“We are in a position where we need to expand the size of the premises we are in, increase capacity and take on more members of staff,” said managing director Keith Bott.

He said Titanic plans to make a “significant investment” in the brewery, which is currently running near capacity and produces around 2.3m pints per year. Moving to another site would be considered, Bott said.
