Pubco Trust Inns has launched a Business Support Charter to helps new lessees joining the business.

The charter gives licensees details of the support they can expect to receive from business development mangers (BDMs) and estate managers in their first six months.

It includes 12 preset business meeting agendas for lessees and BDMs to tackle in the early days of the partnership.

Brian King, managing director of the 600-strong pubco, said: "It is our experience that the first six months in a new pub can be daunting for many. The Business Support Charter is our way of reassuring new and prospective licensees that Trust Inns is there to help them through the variety of obstacles they may face, and ultimately assist them in achieving their goals for a successful pub business.

"The charter is meant to provide a focus on the areas where we feel we can offer lessees the most support.

"The meeting contents are by no means exhaustive, but at a time when we know lessees have many questions on their mind, we intend to reassure them that we are here to help."

The charter has been endorsed by members of the Trust Inns Licensee Forum, which meets every six months.
