Late night operator Urbium has added to it London presence with the £1.45 million acquisition of Strawberry Moons, just off Regent Street.

Urbium, operator of the Tiger Tiger brand, said recently it is focusing on the central London market, which is proving more profitable than some provincial locations.

Executive chairman, John Conlan said: "The acquisition of this well located 550 capacity venue with a 3am licence is part of our continuing strategy to build market share in London's West End.

"We will trade this profitable business in its current format until early 2005 when we plan a modest reinvestment, without closure, to take advantage of Urbium's wider trading hours and business offering."
