Wolverhampton & Dudley Breweries (W&DB) is looking for further acquisitions following its £119.9m purchase of Burtonwood.

In the company's AGM statement chief executive Ralph Findlay confirmed to shareholders that recent strong performance had ensured the possibility of future purchases.

"The business continues to make good progress, and we remain prudently financed, providing us with considerable flexibility to take advantage of opportunities as they arise," said Mr Findlay.

W&DB's trading in the fifteen weeks to January 15, 2005, were in line with expectations with like—for-like sales 3 per cent up for the managed Pathfinder Pubs and 3.4 per cent up for the tenanted Union Pub Company division.
