Corona Extra celebrated breaking into the UK's top 10 premium packaged lagers by staging the brand's biggest ever promotional event.
Corona Extra turned the world final of the Movida Corona DJ mixing championships at London's Ministry of Sound nightclub into a massive party, with a fleet of branded vehicles and giant inflatables, as well as a host of performers and entertainers.
The move followed the brand being confirmed as number seven in the UK on-trade's biggest selling bottled lagers, according to the latest independent research from AC Nielsen.
The statistics show Corona Extra, which is distributed by Bedford-based Charles Wells, climbing from outside the top 30 into the main 10 PPL brands in the UK in less than three years.
Angel Garcia Gomez, head of Corona Extra in the UK, said, "The growth of Corona Extra in the UK continues to reflect increasing consumer demand for authentic, brewed-at-source products. We are delighted that the brand is continuing to go from strength to strength and that its global popularity is now being reflected in the UK market."
