Thatchers Cider is introducing a limited edition of its Prince William single-variety cider following the 2012 harvest.

“We first produced cider from the Prince William apple back in 2008,” said Martin Thatcher, fourth-generation cider maker.

“The cider was pressed for just one season, and we’re delighted that the orchard of Prince William trees that was planted five years ago is now producing apples in sufficient quantities for us to press this particular single variety again.”

The Prince William apple is one of the 25 new varieties of cider apple that Thatchers developed with the National Association of Cider Makers and produces a bright, clear and slightly sparkling dry cider, at 4.5% ABV.
