Black Sheep Brewery founder Paul Theakston has been immortalised in the form of a limited-edition pump handle figurine for Pathmaker beer to mark the 25th anniversary of the launch of the brewery.

Pathmaker, which was originally trialled in 2015 as a bottled beer in homage to Theakston, will be available in pubs and bars primarily throughout Yorkshire and the north-east from 20 March.

Brewed with Chinook, Citra and Simcoe hops, the beer has a fresh aroma partnered with a juicy hop and malty mouth-feel before a bitter finish.

Pathmaker is also available as part of Black Sheep’s bottled craft beer range alongside Glug M’Glug and Moose Jaw.

Black Sheep sales and marketing director, and Paul’s son, Jo said 2017 is a special year for all connected with the company so it was fitting that his father’s achievements were recognised because he has been instrumental in making the brewery what it is today.

Philip Cutter, the Gardeners Arms, Norwich:

“As with all new products to our bars, it generally isn't the view of the brand that gets customers' attention, but the packaging.

“Pump clips give our customers the first glimpse of a new product, and this one certainly gives a new, innovative twist to any bar.

“Being brewed with Chinook, Citra and Simcoe hops will give a fresh aroma, and a definitive flavour.

“With such a unique font, I am sure that this will create real interest with customers.”
