Camerons brewery is set to open its 11th Head of Stream venue this autumn, in the city of Liverpool.

The brewery and retail pub estate owner will begin work at the Hanover Street site in August and hopes to open the venue by the end of September.

The Head of Stream venue will have 34 keg lines with a selection of rotating craft beers from UK and world brewers, 10 cask ale lines and a selection of premium cocktails, spirits and soft drinks.

The pub will have an island bar and food offerings will include a brunch menu, as well as a range of British pub classics. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options will also be available.

'Perfect fit'

Camerons Brewery chief executive Chris Soley said the pub would be a “perfect fit” for the area.

“We have specifically been looking at venues in the north-west and Liverpool was a city we were really keen to open a site in,” he said. “Liverpool is a large vibrant city and we feel our mix of craft beer and live music will be a perfect fit to complement the already fantastic pub and bar offerings in the area”.

“We will be putting some significant investment into the development of the site and creating new jobs for the area as part of this acquisition. This venue will be a very different proposition to the previous Head of Steam pub that had previously traded in Liverpool and will be modelled on the success we have had at our site in Sheffield.”

Large capacity

Camerons Brewery, which acquired the Head of Steam brand in 2014, is one of the largest private breweries in the UK, with the capacity to produce more than 1m hectolitres of beer annually.

As well as its core brewing operation, the brewery possesses a retail pub estate of more than 70 venues.

Last year, the brewer opened venues in Headingley, Hull, Newcastle and Sheffield, and plans to open around six new venues a year.

In January, the brewery released a special cask beer to celebrate three years of ownership of the Head of Steam brand.
