MA readers unanimously worried about Trump as president
A staggering 75% of MA readers said a US government led by Republican party candidate Donald Trump was a scarier prospect than his rival, Hilary Clinton.
All-nighter
Pubs across the UK will be getting in on the US action, with some hosting all-night screenings of the event.
The Royal Blenheim pub in Oxford is expecting large crowds this evening as it will be screening all-night coverage of the Presidential campaign.
The Oxford Mail reported Jane Binyon, who runs the pub with her husband Mike, said: "It should be interesting. It will depend on what side you're on but I reckon it'll be quite a celebratory atmosphere."
Back in April, the US Brewers Association (BA) released figures stating imports of US craft beer in the UK were rising on the back of a global increase in exports of 16.3% for last year.
The UK is fourth in the running order of export markets for US craft beer, behind Canada (51.1%), Sweden (10.1%) and Ireland (9.6%) with market share up 0.1% to 9.5% last year in comparison with 2014.
Key trends
This year’s Great American Beer Festival, held by the BA, identified key trends for the UK, which included American cream ales.
The BA urged operators to keep a look out for six key trends in 2017 - IPAs, lagers and Pilsners, sour beers, spontaneous beers, coffee-flavoured beers and barrel-aged beers.
The beer festival was the BA's 35th annual event. It was held in Denver Colorado and saw an astonishing 60,000 beer fanatics through the doors between 6 and 8 October.
