Publican Award winners North Brewing Co has teamed up with Leeds Indie Food to create a weekly food fair, EatNorth.

Starting this Saturday (17 June), and continuing throughout the summer, the event will include a rotating line-up of street food traders at the brewing and pub group’s taproom in Sheepscar, just outside Leeds city centre.

EatNorth will mark the first street food event Leeds has seen in several years and the first weekly event the city has ever hosted.

The first six weeks are already fully booked with more than 30 different street food traders signed up to serve a huge variety of dishes alongside craft beers, spirits and wine.

Each Saturday, the ever-changing line-up will bring at least one food truck new to the city, including some new faces trading for the first time and old favourites too.

The summer agenda includes two special editions – EatNorth v Hopulance on Friday 7 July, which is a collaboration with the brewery’s DJ night, featuring late-night food and cocktails.

North Brewing Co director John Gyngell highlighted the potential the Leeds-based business's taproom has.

He said: “The brewery tap is a great space with huge potential and we’re keen to build a regular events programme.

“The opportunity to work with Leeds Indie Food is really exciting, especially given the reaction to this year’s festival.

“The quality and variety of the food traders looks incredible, and we love that there will always be something different for people to try with the core range of North Brewing Co beers and new releases we will have on the bar.”

Leeds Indie Food director Matt Dix outlined how the company had been trying to organise a weekly street food event for a while and how he is pleased that everything fell into place with EatNorth.

He said: “The North Brewing Co taproom is the perfect place and we know the North Bar team can find its way around a bar too.

“We’ve booked some killer street food traders from all over the UK, with plenty of new faces to Leeds.

“Events like Grub in Manchester show there’s a real appetite for good food and good beer, and we’re excited to offer a bite of Leeds Indie Food every week, all summer.”
