‘Rail Ale Trail’ along the UK’s longest heritage railway attracts 23 brewers.

The Real Ale Rail Trail will take place on the 20-mile West Somerset Railway, which runs between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard, on 9-11 June.

17-strong operator Brewhouse & Kitchen will host a pop-up bar at the event, while several south-west based brewers have also signed up to host bars in either Minehead, Stogumber or Bishops Lydeard over the course of the weekend.

The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) is organising the event and hopes to attract 4,000 people to what SIBA says is the first of its kind in the UK.

South-west secretary for SIBA, Carl Beeson, is organising the event and said he was confident the event would provide “fantastic independent craft-brewed beer” for the full stretch of the railway.
