Shepherd Neame has announced it will incorporate spiced fresh pumpkin into its seasonal Spooks Ale.

The Kentish brewer has updated the pump clip for the beer, part of its No 18 Yard Brewhouse experimental range of limited-edition ales, to reflect the new ingredient.

Richard Frost, head brewer at Shepherd Neame, said: “The aim of our No 18 Yard Brewhouse collection is to offer beers with unique flavours and character in a variety of style, created using traditional brewing methods.

'Bridge the gap'

“We think the addition of spiced fresh pumpkin gives a delicious new twist to Spooks Ale. It is the perfect brew to bridge the gap between the golden ales of summer and dark winter beers.”

Spooks Ale has an ABV of 4.7% and will be available in cask this October.
