Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has launched the second wave of its online training programme, alongside a new ‘make the most of January’ scratch card prize giveaway, to help licensees drive soft-drink sales over the slow January period.

The ‘second serve’ training programme looks to educate licensees about the sales potential of offering a second soft drink to customers through a series of animated video content, including tips on optimum times to suggest another drink and how to incentivise staff to reach sales targets.

It follows the first stage of the programme, which launched in May 2015 in partnership with e-learning specialists CPL Online to offer an interactive way for pub and bar staff to learn.

Caroline Cater, operational marketing director at CCE, said: “Our ‘perfect serve’ online training module has proved popular among our licensed customers, and we’re pleased to roll out this second module, which focuses on how offering a ‘second serve’ at the right time can help pubs and bars to achieve growth.

“This training gives our customers the tools and support they need to understand the huge potential of the soft-drinks sector and help them to seize the opportunity to maximise their sales at this important time of the year.”

To further help pubs and bars drive trade in the quieter first months of the year, CCE has also launched its Make the Most of January campaign.

Running until the end of January, consumers purchasing Schweppes Sparkling Juice, Appletiser or one of the Coca-Cola line-up will be offered scratch card prizes designed to appeal to consumers adopting healthier lifestyles after the heavy festive period.

Available to all CCE customers, the ‘second serve’ course can be found at www.cokeperfectserve.net.
