Diageo launches doorstep alcohol service via Deliveroo
Thebar.com store aims to replace ‘last-minute drinks runs’, by dropping off Diageo brands including Smirnoff vodka, Gordon’s Gin and Johnnie Walker Scotch whisky to selected London postcodes.
Orders will be delivered by the takeaway service's team of cyclists and bikers – known as Roomen and Roowomen – as part of the move to ‘take the stress out of shopping for your favourite drinks’.
Some customers will also be treated to beatboxing Christmas carol singers as part of the launch, the drinks giant said.
Founded in 2013, Deliveroo works with over 16,000 restaurants, as well as more than 20,000 riders to deliver food.
Last month it teamed up with Heineken to offer home delivery of the brand's beers and ciders, and earlier this year Deliveroo partnered with eight Majestic Wines across London and 20 BrewDog sites nationally to deliver beers, wines and spirits.
