The Negroni is a simple cocktail to make, as it consists of just three ingredients used in equal measures and doesn't require shaking or even stirring (although there is some debate about that). Bar staff at the gin and rum bar the Merchant House in east London show us how it's done.

Ingredients:

  • 25ml of London dry gin (we use Hayman's here)
  • 25ml Campari
  • 25ml rosso vermouth

Method:

  • Fill a tumbler with ice
  • Add all of the ingredients
  • Garnish with a curl of orange peel
  • Stir or don't stir, it's entirely up to you (although a little stir will ensure the ingredients are mixed together)
