BIS: Norman Lamb appointed minister

let's hope Greg Mulholland is right and that Norman Lamb's time at Health won't sway his judgement ...

RE: BIS: Norman Lamb appointed minister

Ed Davey should have never got that job in the first place, on grounds of capabillty!

I welcome the arrival of a new man, and hope to see some sense put back into the Department.

It will be interesting to see if ed davey will be resurfacing in due course working for the BBPA?
or they might now reject him too?

RE: BIS: Norman Lamb appointed minister

No doubt Brigid will have the pubco request to meet Mr Lamb already in the post in the hope that a beer group shindig or or an old school tie might be enough to persuade him to maintain industry status quo. Lets hope Mr Lamb isn't as gullible or as easily pleased by big business influence as Mr Davey.

RE: BIS: Norman Lamb appointed minister

Quote from Norman Lamb during the election campaign re Camra's charter

'I am pleased to support this charter. The pub is really important to local communities. They can bring communities together and act as a focal point for local people. We are losing far too many of our precious public houses.'
Let's hope he remembers his pledge, unlike his two colleagues.
(Presumably as Ed Davey is now energy secretary, and has publically stated his support for Green energy, we will see a deal done with and benefitting the big oil companies shortly?)

RE: BIS: Norman Lamb appointed minister

Let's hope this isn't a case of Lamb to the slaughter.

More importantly, PMA very lazy reporting, " Chris Huhne resigned over claims that he was to be charged for speeding."

I think he has actually been summoned to appear before Magistrates to face a charge of Perverting the Course of Justice, if guilty a custodial sentence. Speeding = 3 points and a £60 fine.

RE: BIS: Norman Lamb appointed minister

Thanks Russell,

This has now been altered accordingly
