PICAS panel chairman appointed

If he was elected would it not be wise to let us know who had a vote...the suffrage matters in these issues. Claiming an election can give credence to a process that may not deserve it. Bit like turkeys voting for Christmas?

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

For starters, here are three very common disputes:

1 - My rent is astronomically high and getting higher, at a time when all commercial rents in my area is falling!!

2 - Pubco charging astronomical prices on beers!!

3 - The pubco will not give me a Free of Tie option with the rent set out at free market levels!

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

Hey Rodger,
If you can not solve the above problems, your panel is not worth the paper it's written on!!

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

Ed davey's position is untentable over this shambolic and corrupt set up!!

I call on ed davey to resign now!!!

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

Not only that, pub the Commans Committee immediatly call the PICAS Panel Chairman and Ed Davey to explain how this is an Independant Position.

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

Surely a blindingly obvious conflict of interest. This is someone whose business depends on pubcos.

A shambles.

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

I note all the comments above especially potential conflicts of interest but ask just one question.

If you want an expert in the pub trade to chair the PICAS panel where, apart from the serried ranks of RICS, do you expect to find a suitable candidate?

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

Sam, why not ask PICAS who was on their short-list first?

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

Chris, I gather from your response, you know, so were there any alternatives that could be deemed suitable that don't have the potential for conflict of iterest?

RE: PICAS panel chairman appointed

no in this situation i really dont know, i think it'll be of interest to the trade to know who else was in the running for this important post.
