Booker: helping pubs attract students

UK food and drink wholesaler Booker is launching a Back to College promotion from tomorrow to help pubs and bars tap into the student market.

A range of beers, wines, spirits, snacks and soft drinks will be included from 8 September to 5 October.

Two bottles of popular shot Sidekick will be £7, Antica Sambuca will be £12 and three bottles of Sourz flavours will cost £20.

Other brands in the deal include Becks, Morgan's Spiced Rum and JP Chenet.

Small packs of Pringles (40g) will cost £3.89 a case when buying two and customers will receive tonic water or low calorie tonic water free when buying four cases of Britvic mixer.

"This is an ideal time for licensees in and around university and college towns to capture student sales," said Ron Hickey, sales director — catering.

"Freshers week and other events throughout the autumn see huge sales up-lift and this presents a massive opportunity to offer some great products that appeal to students.

"With additional savings such as a keg of Strongbow for just £70, we believe this will prove to be a really profitable time for our customers."
