Brandon Lewis: The trade will be in 'good hands'
Brandon Lewis MP has promised that the pub industry will remain “well looked after”, following his promotion to Minister of State for the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) today.

It has not yet been announced who will take over Lewis’ role as community pubs minister but Penny Mourdant and Kris Hopkins,who were both promoted to DCLG yesterday are said to be in the frame.

Lewis simply assured the Publican’s Morning Advertiser​ that the trade will be in “good hands”.

Lewis was previously Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for DCLG. He will now have responsibility for housing and planning.

The Government reshuffle has also seen Mike Penning promoted to Minister of State at the Home Office and Minister of State at the Ministry of Justice, and Ed Vaizey has been promoted to Minister of State at the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, with responsibility for digital industries.

George Freeman will be a new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Department of Health.
