The consumer organisation, has asked its 130,000 members to lobby their local MP, in the wake of the Business, Innovation and Skills Committee (BISC) report.
More than 2,000 members of the consumer group have already emailed their local MP, through the CAMRA website, asking their MP to write to business secretary Vince Cable MP and community pubs Minister Bob Neill MP, and ask that they stick to their promise to implement the recommendations of the recent BISC Report.
The BISC report into the pubco-tenant relationship claimed that industry self regulation had failed and there should now be a statutory code of practice for tenanted pubcos.
BISC chairman Adrian Bailey said that the “deep seated” problems between tenants and pubcos have not been sufficiently addressed, despite this being the fourth select committee report into the matter over seven years.
CAMRA campaigns manager Emily Ryans said: “The BISC recognised the need for urgent pubco reform to prevent further pub closures.
"It’s now vital that the Government keep their promise to act on the Committee’s recommendations. CAMRA members will be urging their MPs to stand up for consumers and lobby Ministers to introduce free market reforms that allow the market to work fairly”.
