Punch managed chain Chef & Brewer has launched a web TV programme dispelling some of the myths around cask beer.

The video stars Cask Marque's Annabel Smith and Chef & Brewer development chef Kevin Steppe and was shot at the Battle Axes in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

"Web TV is a new marketing tool that we are exploring to reach a wider audience and bring some interaction with our guests," said Chef & Brewer concept manager Dominic Monkman.

"We hope that by show-casing it not only on a number of consumer websites but also our own (www.chefandbrewer.com ) we will encourage more pub-goers, both younger men and women, to at least try the nectar of all beers."

Cask Marque chief executive Paul Nunny added: "We were obviously delighted to support Chef & Brewer in this initiative.

"It's great to see our corporate members really embracing the pulling power of cask beer and we will be looking to push the web TV programme on our website."

All 134 Chef & Brewer pubs throughout the UK carry the Cask Marque plaque.
