Union Jack's, Jamie Oliver's restaurant concept in waiting, will use only produce sourced from the UK.
Speculation has indicated that Union Jack's will feature traditional British food, but the appointment of award-winning US pizza operator Chris Bianco as a director of the company overseeing the new concept suggests it will have a more modern twist and could feature pizzas made with British produce.
Bianco was made a director of the high-profile chef's new company, Jamie Bianco Ltd.
The company, in which Oliver is the majority shareholder, includes John Jackson and Simon Blagden, as directors. Jackson and Blagden are chairman and managing director respectively of the 19-strong Jamie's Italian chain.
Pizzas are currently not included on the menu at Jamie's Italian, but Blagden is a previous operations director at Pizza Express.
The new group has also copyrighted intellectual property rights for the Union Jack's name.
Jamie's Italian will open its next site in Chelmsford, Essex, on 29 July.
It is set to open further restaurants over the coming months in Islington, north London, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, Threadneedle Street in London and Westfield Stratford City.
