Greg Mulholland MP has again written to KPMG over the future of a West Yorkshire pub.

KPMG is the administrator of the Winston Churchill in Bradford and so has the power over the pub's future.

A prospective buyer, who planned to demolish the building and build a car park, has withdrawn their offer, and Mulholland wrote to the company requesting several 'commmitments'.

On belhalf of the All Party Parliamentary Save the Pub Group, Mulholland asked that KPMG will not demolish the pub; will seek to sell it with priority to buyers who intend to keep it as a pub; and to keep the current tenant and local community informaed of developments.

Mulholland wrote: "By making these commitments you will be demonstrating that KPMG does respect and value the local community and its needs and that KPMG are not merely seeking to maximise value from the site, when this could mean the totally unjustifiable destruction of a successful small business and a valued community asset.

"This would give a much better impression of KPMG than the one that has been gained so far over this property, something that has been reported in the local press and also commented upon by Bradford city councilors."
