Premium Pepsi variant Pepsi Raw is being axed in the UK following a disappointing sales in the off-trade.

Distributor Britvic admitted sales through pubs and bars, where the "natural" cola was first launched in 2008, had been better but said the brand was nonetheless being pulled from the entire market.

"Pepsi Raw has had good success in bars and pubs, where we knew it would perform well," said a Britvic spokeswoman.

"However the roll-out to grocery has been less successful, which is why we've taken the decision to withdraw the brand from the UK market.

"Innovation is what drives us, which is why we will continue to invest in NPD, building on our reputation for developing and launching category-defining products."
