She has worked for Gondola Group for 17 years and was most recently head of operations south for ASK restaurants.

In November the Publican's Morning Advertiser sister title M&C Report revealed that Mary Willcock, managing director of Slug & Lettuce chain, is to become managing director of Brunning & Price (B&P), The Restaurant Group-owned pub group.

Staples’ role includes overseeing Living Room, the 13-strong brand acquired by Stonegate from Premium Bars & Restaurants in August in a deal thought to be valued at around £10m.

Staples started at Stonegate on Monday 6 January
