Beer Writing Awards deadline extended

A prize fund of £12,000 will be shared between winners and runners-up in eight categories of the competition, which is open to broadcasters, photographers, illustrators, designers, illustrators, bloggers, webmasters and writers who have furthered the Guild’s mission “to extend public knowledge and appreciation of beer and pubs”. 

• British Guild of Beer Writers elect new member​

Nominees do not have to be members of the Guild of Beer Writers to enter and entries must have been published between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016.

The overall Beer Writer of the Year 2016 along with all winners and runners-up will be announced at an awards dinner in London on Thursday 1 December.

Judges

This year’s judges include one half of Hairy Bikers chef duo Dave Myers, consumer affairs correspondent at The Guardian​ Rebecca Smithers, chief executive of the Association for Licensed Multiple Retailers Kate Nicholls, and head brewer at St Austell Brewery Roger Ryman. Chair of this year’s panel is last year’s Beer Writer of the Year Breandán Kearney.
