Town and City Pub Company is to install 3D TV in 20 of its pubs.

The Yates's, Slug & Lettuce and Hogshead operator is one of the fiurst pub companies to announce a deal with Sky 3D.

The first match to be shown will be Manchester United v Chelsea on 3 April, followed by six more by the end of the season.

Just over 1,000 pubs are expected to take up 3D TV before the end of the football season.

"At Town and City Pub Company we are committed to being at the forefront of 3D sports coverage," said Simon Lucas of Town and City Pub Company.

"We have invested heavily in the equipment required and will continue to do across all our sports-led pubs to ensure we offer our customers the best sports viewing outside of the stadium."

He added: "Our customers know that there is no where better to view the top sports games in a pub than at one of ours and with this new technology we are able to keep ahead of the game to ensure that remains so."
