One Essex pub is attracting around five extra regulars a week through advertising its current ales, ciders and lagers on free website Your Round.
It is free for pubs to join and list their ales, which potential customers can then browse using a free iPhone app, downloadable to Apple's iPhone and other smart phones.
Darran Lingley of freehold the Five Bells in Colne Engaine, Essex, joined the service in September last year and said it has been going "absolutely fantastically well".
"I know it's working because people come in asking for particular ales and showing their phones around," said Lingley.
The bar manager updates all the ales and Your Round archives every one that has been used, making it easier to update.
"It is very easy," said Lingley. "It's a very good system. If you don't have a logo for the beer, Your Round gets in touch with the brewer to get one.
"We have been pushing the Campaign for Real Ale to use it and it is going to make a push."
The pub receives four or five new customers each week from using Your Round, who usually become regular customers, which equates to around an extra £2,000 a year in trade.
