Enterprise Inns has revealed its publican support package for Christmas – the busiest time for trade.

To encourage early festive party and Christmas Day meal bookings, the pubco is offering publicans tools to help maximise sales, drive footfall and encourage repeat visits in January and beyond.

Enterprise said Christmas is the ideal time to showcase pubs to a large number of customers, and boost food and drink sales with specific winter serves.

Marketing director James Armitage said: “November and December are usually hectic months, and when people want to unwind and relax with friends and family, they’ll often look to their local pub.

“The opportunity to boost business during this time is huge. Inevitably, it’s our busiest trading period of the year.

“In fact, research has revealed that 15m people will celebrate Christmas in a pub over the course of the festive period, and one in six UK adults ate out on Christmas Day last year.”

Enterprise is offering publicans Christmas party or food point-of-sale kits, which include banners, posters, menu sleeves and an ideas guide.

January bounce backs are included to drive customers post-Christmas during a slower trading period.

Publicans can take advantage of offers online and from the company’s Deals & Ideas magazine, including promotions on popular soft and alcoholic drinks, as well as mulled drinks and festive ales, from the On the Dray section.

Recent editions of the magazine have featured articles on Christmas menu planning, including recipe ideas from Michelin-starred chef and Enterprise publican Dominic Chapman from The Beehive, White Waltham.

The November and December editions will feature advice and tips on Christmas drinks.

Licensees can decorate their pubs with the help of a 10% discount on party supplies from Peeks.

Armitage added: “We are giving our publicans a range of products, and lots of great ideas around how to maximise the festive opportunity, including how to best leverage the 12 days of Christmas.

“By offering a fun, no-hassle experience, pubs can draw in customers who are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of shopping or hosting, and simply enjoy quality time with friends and family, without having to lift a finger.”
