Enterprise: Swansea landmark gets £270k refurb

The Enterprise-Owned pub on Wind Street, which has been closed since April 10, will sport an industrial design with exposed brickwork, corrugate sheeting and wooden-top oil drum tables when it launches in December.

Operating seven nights a week, the venue will serve American diner-style food and offer live entertainment including music, comedy and bingo.

Formerly a hotel that was once frequented by overseas serviceman during the Second World War, the pub will also show live sport and feature table tennis, retro arcade games, pinball machines, and table football.

Local entrepreneurs Bruno Nunes and Mike Griffiths, who run the pub, said: “We’re looking to reflect the recent evolution of Wind Street with the diversity of our offering, and create a down-to-earth feel. This is also a great example of a pub company like Enterprise working in a different way with a local independent business such as ours, and they’ve given us the freedom to be really creative, and invest in the things we believe will work best.”

Enterprise regional manager Wayne Jones said: “A lot of people are very excited at the prospect of a completely new-look Adelphi, which has a lot of history, and which is a hugely popular Swansea venue. This is going to be a quite radical change, but one which we’re confident customers – new and old – are going to love.”
