Enterprise Inns is rolling out Wi-Fi across its 6,000-strong leased and tenanted estate.

Supplied by Arqiva, the Wi-Fi will be available for Enterprise customers and staff to use for free. No password is required and customers will only need to register once to be able to use the service in any Enterprise pub.

Enterprise Inns commercial director Ed Cottrell said Wi-Fi is now an expectation, not an option, for most pubs. He added that the new service will help the new digital channel help the pubco “connect more” with its licensees.

Cottrell explained: “We are delighted to be offering a first rate, free, Wi-Fi service to our licensees.

“The feedback from our trial pubs in Halifax has been reassuringly positive, helping those licensees to play even more of a part in their community.”

Nicolas Ott, managing director for Government, Mobile & Enterprise at Arqiva, said: “Each week more than 15 million of us visit the pub. It is an important social ritual for many of us, and when we are at the pub we want to stay connected.”

Arqiva also supplies hotel chains Premier Inns, Travelodge and Radisson Blu, as well as 650 restaurants, and a number retail chains and shopping centres.
